Remembrance Road redevelopment: a new gateway worthy of Mount Royal

Here’s a new episode of our “Field Perspective” series, in which we unveil video capsules that illustrate the diversity and innovation of our projects. For this capsule, our film crew travelled to Montreal to bring you images of the Côte-des-Neiges and Remembrance Road intersection, a project to reconnect citizens with Mount Royal.

The project to redevelop the intersection of Chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges and Chemin Remembrance, in the heart of the Mount Royal heritage site, was required because the existing interchange at the intersection dated back to 1958 and no longer met the needs of citizens. It was the perfect opportunity to create a new gateway worthy of Mount Royal, Montreal’s most important park. The City envisioned this project as a space for pedestrians, cyclists and even wildlife, emphasizing the desire to reconnect citizens with their mountain, beyond mere automobile traffic.

Guillaume Lefebvre, Design Department Manager – Urban Infrastructures explains in more detail what this is all about, with breathtaking images from our drone pilot Steve Simard, Senior Technician in the Surveying – Data Acquisition department.
