FNX-INNOV, proud sponsor of the Jeux de génie 2023
From January 4th to 8th, the famous Jeux de génie du Québec took place where more than 500 students from 13 universities put their academic knowledge, their resourcefulness and their social skills to the test by competing in a variety of challenges in the field of engineering. FNX-INNOV was present as a sponsor, judge and recruiter!
For over 30 years, the Jeux de Génie du Québec has been the largest engineering competition in Quebec and the most important gathering of engineering students in the province. This year, Laval University had the great honor of hosting the 32nd edition which took place in person from January 4 to 8, 2023.
FNX-INNOV, which has the next generation of Quebec engineers at heart, did not hesitate to become a sponsor of this impressive competition. In addition to the extraordinary visibility with these 500 dynamic, creative students who are looking for a company that reflects their image, we were on hand as a competition judge. Indeed, our colleague Karine Minguy represented FNX-INNOV as a judge for one of the most important competitions, the Civil Major. The challenge for the students was to build a telecommunication tower taking into consideration the cost of the materials used (wood), the temperature/weather (the construction was done outside), the transportation costs, the communication challenges within the team and the height of the tower, while ensuring that it was stable enough to support a weight of 10 pounds.
Thus, in addition to introducing FNX-INNOV to all the students through an allocation at the sponsors’ dinner, Karine, along with 6 other judges, had to meet with the different teams in order to understand their reasoning and concept choices. Execution costs, stability, aesthetics and final profitability of the “project” were the main elements evaluated in order to choose her “Coup de coeur” team.
Finally, to ensure an optimal presence, we also participated in the networking evening with a brand new kiosk. Our colleagues Samuel Juneau and Claudia Carrier were able to meet hundreds of students with fascinating profiles from universities across the province. A great way to start the year for our recruitment team!
Thank you to Karine, Samuel and Claudia for their participation which allowed FNX-INNOV to shine as an attractive company for the future generation! A great visibility at the beginning of this new year!
