Our Sherbrooke colleagues clean up 533 pounds of waste material

In collaboration with the organization Mission 1000 tonnes, a dozen colleagues from the Sherbrooke office cleaned up the banks of the Saint-François River. The Sherbrooke Social Club and FNX-INNOV financed the activity and everything was organized so that the participants could spend a great day, while getting involved in an important cause!

Some were accompanied by their children, others by their pets, and it was under a radiant sun that our Sherbrooke colleagues accomplished their chore, which turned out to be a lot of fun! All the collection materials were provided by Mission 1000 Tonnes along with beers and refreshments that were served at the end of the activity. Pieces of plastic, tires, suitcases, clothing and all sorts of unusual items were collected for a total of 533 pounds of waste material. Although it would have taken several hours to clean up the entire river, our colleagues still had great satisfaction in seeing their activity area cleaned up.

The Sherbrooke Social Club is proud to have funded this social and environmental activity and is challenging other offices to participate next year: “Which office will collect the most waste?” We can’t wait to see!
