With the infrastructure of Galt Street West nearing the end of its useful life, the City of Sherbrooke saw this as an opportunity to re-examine the configuration of this area, considered a true gateway to its downtown area. As a result, a major project was proposed to implement new developments designed to promote the use of active modes of transport, increase pedestrian safety and improve traffic flow. In addition, the expansion of a park and the underground placement of electrical cables were carried out to make the area more attractive and functional.
For this project, our teams provided a full range of urban infrastructure and materials engineering services. Work included rebuilding municipal infrastructure, reconstructing the pavement structure, adding bicycle paths and landscaping, and modifying traffic signals and street lighting. This major project has breathed new life into Sherbrooke’s infrastructure, improving the quality of life of its citizens.
